Music for a Cure is a non-profit that my friend Murphy and Julie Karges began in 2002. Devoted to bringing music to critically Ill children, MFAC is doing some truly impacting work. Murphy is the bass player in the band Sugar Ray, and was inspired to begin MFAC after a dear fan of theirs past away due to cancer. I truly believe music is one of the most healing, freeing, inspiring gifts that we have on earth. Take a minute and check out the slide show from the Fashion Rocks fundraiser at Seven Degrees (one of my favorite venues). Thanks to all of you who gave in support of what MFAC is doing. If you have any desire to give financially or musically, please go to musicforacure.org and connect with them! p.s. The song for this one…I just had to

This past sunday I had the priviledge of being a part of a unique intimate bridal soiree hosted by Fleur de Lis Events. It was an awesome time to connect with brides and grooms, hear about their lives and their wedding plans without the choas that can sometimes be at larger bridal events. It was hosted at Adina’s home (owner of Fleur de Lis) in Newport Beach. The sushi was amazing, Damon played good tunes, and I had a fun time shooting Alicia who was wearing her L’ezu dress! She is a queen for sure, so much fun! We had a great time and she knows how to work the camera. Check the slideshow! Also I must mention Newport Beach Winery, an award winning wines and amazing venue!

Last Thursday, Tosti Studios was once again thee place to be in Laguna Beach. (Can I say that??) It REALLY WAS a good time. Artists Michael Dowdell and Andrew M. Cole, showed new, smaller works, which is uncommon for them considering most of their work has been 5′x5′ and larger. Their work will be up till the end of November. Please stop by and see it if you haven’t had the chance yet. Call 949.715.9621 for an appointment or stop in Mon.- Fri. 11-5.
I’m continually amazed by my friends who come to join us, and I thought I’d mention a few of them. They are loving, brilliant people and they make my life so much richer.
Many Thanks to RIGHT gin and Metromint water for their contributions!

I am so behind on blogging, it’s just not right. Life has been busy for David Tosti. I just spent an extraordinary weekend in Boca Grande, FL. photographing a wedding with my friend Joe Photo. It was mind blowing to say the least. I don’t have any images available as they are exclusive to the couple. I wish I could say more and show more, but somethings are indescribable and copyright protected.
However! I do have Lindsay and Geoff’s images to share with you. I photographed their engagement here in Laguna Beach at the beginning of the month. They are going to be married in AZ and wanted to have their engagement photos done at the beach. Thanks again you two! I had a great time working with you and I have to hand it to them. We were out at the end of a huge rock, looking for the crashing waves to help us out in some photos, and they did, just a little too much. Look out for the shot where the water is all over my lens!

Tara and Mike are seriously some of the most sweet and kind people I’ve ever photographed. I REALLY enjoyed being apart of their day. They were married on September 6th, ( yes, I’m behind on my blogging!) at Aliso Creek Golf Course, here in Laguna Beach. Here’s the slideshow from their day, check it out! Their first dance was to this song “The Luckiest” by Ben Folds, so I thought they would dig that. Congratulations you two, I hope Minnesota isn’t toooo cold right now!

I photographed these two on July 25th. They are sweet, funny, and hilarious. I think the images tell about that….check it out and enjoy some Marley, they love reggae….
I didn’t embed this one into the blog, as I’ve been making these slideshows larger. It just doesn’t seem to do the images the justice they deserve when they are so small. (We’re going to redesign my blog soon and the images will be much larger!)
Thanks for stoppin’ by!

I was on my way to photograph the Wood Racquet Classic for Riviera Magazine yesterday and found out some interesting news, 90210 is back! (check the photo below) The Wood Racquet Classic is an amazing event put on by a few men to benefit the Hoag Cancer Center. To be honest, I wish I had been playing and not shooting. Mainly because I would’ve enjoyed sporting “circa 1976 Wimbledon like attire” and digging through my fathers garage to find his wood racquet. I went ahead an edited these images in a bit of a “vintage” feel. It just seemed right. Next year, I hope to play in the tournament, and you may just see me in some awesome OP shorts, which may not be very awesome.
I know it’s illegal to talk on your cell phone and drive….but can you take photos of 90210 sky writing while driving?

Hmmmm….let’s notice where the ball is and where his racquet is, needless to say, I don’t feel intimidated about signing up for next year.

Regardless, you can miss a shot and still turn around at the crowd and let them know that you’re feelin’ strong. Wearing proper head bands and wristbands are key to confidence.

NICE FORM!

Yesterday I photographed my friend Jesse, his wife Renae, and their son Braeden. It was recently Braeden’s 1st birthday and they wanted some images of him and their family during this time. Jesse and I were band mates for about 8 years in PAX217 and it’s quite a privilege to be asked to photograph them. 1. Because they’re really, really, really, rediculously good looking. 2. I photographed Renae for her maternity and I love being apart of the continuim of a family. I was in their wedding, photographed her pregnancy and now Braeden.
This is where being a photographer trumps other professions. Doctors may see you every 6 months cause you’re sick, or a hair stylist once a month, because your mullet is getting a bit out of control, but I get to see them on major events, and help create major events, that last forever. This job is about relationships and that, I LOVE. The idea of legacy in a “digital world” has been lost in many ways. I look at these images and think, “Jesse must be proud, he has a son, a wonderful wife, and his son’s children’s children will sit around a table looking at these images and speak of who he was. We all have about 3 million snap shots on our computers and we are so used to seeing “every” moment from the camera that I think in about 30 years, we’ll start actually appreciating what was invested to create these photographs. …..and that is my tangent for the evening. Thanks for walking with me through it.
SO…Craig family, thank you and I hope you enjoy these, it was great being with you. Braeden, you rock!

Braeden wears Initium Sunglasses Very cool.

LOOK at that face! awwww buddy, you are sweet.

” I, am Jesiah Evans Craig, I will leave behind quite a legacy, you just wait.”

I am so proud to announce the birth of my little boy, David (”beloved”) Rocco (”rest” in Italian) Tosti. He was born at 2:42am Sunday August 24th, 2008. Ya he’s beautiful, dangerous, gentle, loving, kind, pure genius, listens to Bob Dylan, Michael Phelps like, and…what?!! There’s a few things on this planet that you can be prideful about, and a daughter or a son is one of those, and I’m taking it! As I mentioned in my last post, I finished Kathy & Jason’s wedding a bit early and headed to the hospital. Just less than 2 hours later, he showed up. I’ve made it a mission to now photograph these moments in other people’s lives. Something I’ve wanted to do over the last few years. If anyone you know about to give birth, is looking for some images like these, of their new little one, I would be honored.
Rocco, may you always know how loved you are, how valuable you are, how incredibly unique you are, and may you use that knowledge to give, love, and be grace to everyone you meet on this planet. i love you son.
